Savic Weekend Feeder Outside — Cage Drinking Fountain, 350 ml

A practical gravity-fed drinking fountain designed to attach to the outside of bird cages and aviaries, keeping water accessible to canaries, zebra finches and exotic birds without taking up valuable interior cage space. The 350 ml capacity makes it a reliable water source for weekend absences or longer gaps between refills; the transparent upper section lets you check the water level instantly without removing the unit from the cage.

The spout design allows birds to drink easily from the exterior of the cage through the wire while the fountain itself stays clean and protected outside. The upper section detaches fully for straightforward cleaning and refilling; no tools needed and no complicated disassembly. The mounting system clips securely to both vertical and horizontal cage wires, making it compatible with most standard canary cages and aviary panels.

What is the difference between the Savic Weekend Feeder Inside and Outside versions?
The Weekend Feeder range comes in two configurations; Inside and Outside. The Outside version is designed to mount on the exterior of the cage with a spout that protrudes through the wire so birds can drink from inside while the water reservoir stays outside the cage. The Inside version mounts within the cage interior. The Outside configuration is particularly useful for keeping the cage floor clear and preventing contamination of the water supply from droppings or scattered seed inside the cage.

What birds is the Savic Weekend Feeder Outside suitable for?
The Weekend Feeder Outside is designed for canaries, zebra finches and exotic birds housed in standard wire cages or aviaries. It is compatible with cages using both vertical and horizontal wire configurations. It is not intended for larger parrot species that could damage the plastic components; for larger birds a more robust drinker designed for that size category would be more appropriate.

How do I clean the Savic Weekend Feeder Outside?
The upper section of the Weekend Feeder detaches from the base, giving full access to the inside of the reservoir for cleaning. Rinse thoroughly with clean water between refills and wash with a mild, bird-safe cleaning solution regularly to prevent algae build-up, particularly in warmer months or if the fountain is positioned in a sunny spot. Allow all parts to dry fully before refilling and reattaching to the cage. Regular cleaning prevents bacterial growth that could affect the health of your birds.

How long will 350 ml of water last for my birds?
Water consumption varies depending on the number and size of birds, the ambient temperature and whether the birds have access to fresh fruit or vegetables with high moisture content. For a pair of canaries in average conditions, 350 ml typically provides a reliable supply over a weekend period of two to three days; hence the Weekend Feeder name. In warmer weather or for larger collections of birds, check and refill more frequently. Always ensure birds have access to clean, fresh water at all times.
