What is the Trixie Hippo Plush Toy made from?
The toy is made from soft plush fabric combined with a textured woven fabric body that provides additional grip and tactile interest for dogs. The woven texture makes it slightly more resistant to surface wear than standard smooth plush toys and gives dogs a more satisfying surface to grip during carrying and gentle chewing. A squeaker is built into the body and the toy is made from pet-safe materials throughout. Always hand wash or spot clean only; do not machine wash.

Does the Trixie Hippo have a squeaker?
Yes; a squeaker is built into the body of the hippo. The squeaking sound activates when pressure is applied during play, which triggers a dog's natural prey drive instinct and keeps them engaged and motivated. Dogs that enjoy seeking out the source of a squeak will find this toy particularly rewarding. As with all squeaky toys, monitor play and remove the toy if the squeaker becomes exposed or accessible to prevent ingestion.

Is this toy suitable for aggressive chewers?
The Trixie Hippo is a soft plush toy designed for gentle play, cuddling and interactive squeaking rather than sustained heavy chewing. It is not recommended as the primary toy for strong or destructive chewers, as the plush and woven fabric can be worked through with persistent chewing. For dogs that chew heavily, a rubber or rope toy would offer better durability. Always supervise play and discard the toy if seams begin to split or stuffing becomes accessible.

How do I clean the Trixie Hippo Plush Toy?
Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild, pet-safe detergent and rinse thoroughly. Alternatively, spot clean soiled areas with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash as heat and agitation can damage the squeaker mechanism, distort the shape and weaken the seams. Allow the toy to dry completely in a well-ventilated area before returning it to your dog; a damp toy left unattended can develop mildew in the stuffing.
